Credits and Clients
Lisa Gildehaus is a Midwestern documentary producer, director, photographer and sometimes, rather unwillingly, an editor.
She has been a primary creative force behind several documentaries, including ORACLE OF OMAHA about billionaire Warren Buffett; ALMOST HOME, about life in an elder care facility that aired nationally on PBS as part of the 2006 Independent Lens series; Y’ALL VERSUS US: HEAD 2 HEAD, a 10-part documentary series about 2 rival high school football teams in rural Mississippi; and TOWN AND COUNTRY, a film about farm kids and their livestock - and the ever-dwindling space for farmers in America.
Clients of her short-form documentary work for commercial and public relations campaigns include Marquette University, United Way of Greater Milwaukee, and Wilson Sporting Goods. Gildehaus is also a TV commercial and feature film producer, dealing with national and international clients, directors and actors. Clients include Nike, McDonald’s and the University of Minnesota.
Her work has taken her to communities around the globe, including Haiti, Australia, Tanzania, the former Yugoslavia and many locations throughout Europe. She is conversationally fluent in Czech, has a working knowledge of French and Italian, and is learning German.
She was one of 11 participants of the 2009 Hot Docs Doc Lab in Toronto, was a selected participant of the Sundance Digital Dive seminar in 2010 and has been a guest lecturer at Marquette University. In 2010, her work won a CASE (Council for Advancement and Support of Education), a One Show Entertainment Award, and accolades in the Wall Street Journal (November 2010). She served on the Board of Directors for IFP Chicago and is committee chair for the IFP Producers Series, dedicated to enriching the professional experiences of Midwestern filmmakers.
In 2011, she shot a series of documentary shorts exploring the artistry and craftsmanship of Venice, Italy and was selected from almost 4,000 applicants to participate in the 2011 Berlinale Talent Campus that runs concurrent to the Berlin Film Festival. She has also been working on an untitled basketball project with filmmaker Peter Gilbert and production company Moxie Pictures.
Stay tuned for more excitement.
